The Centurion's Wife (Acts of Faith, Book 1)

see relatedRock The Block
As I said in my last post, Friday and Saturday we helped out with Rock The Block. It was a lot of fun!! Friday and Saturday, we did the same thing for the Kids' Crusade but with different groups doing the dramas and dance. We had twice as many people for the dance a we needed so one group (the one I was in) went on Friday and the other went on Saturday. With the dramas, there was like, 4 or 5 groups that learned them. The two dramas were "The Doctor's Office" and the "Sin Chair." We were just told the basic idea of the drama and then our group could make up the specifics about it. The thing with the doctor's office is the first person comes on and there is something visible wrong with them (like they're sneezing or something) and then the next person comes in with something else wrong with them. When the second person sits down, the first person gets healed and the second person still has what they originally had plus they get what the other person had. It just continues until a pregnant lady comes in and then the last person comes on and when they see the pregnant lady they run out. The sin chair goes like this: there's a chair in the middle of the stage with a sign that says "SIN" on it. Two people walk by and one of them says something like, "I want to sit in this chair- it looks fun." The other person tells them that it's sin and not to touch it. Then, the two people start to walk away but the first one runs back and sits in the chair. They get stuck to the chair and can't get out. The other people in the skit pass by one at a time and try to help the person who is stuck and then they get stuck. At the end, the Christian comes back and tells everyone to believe in God and He will set them free and so they do and we all get free. My "Doctor's Office" group didn't get a chance to go but my "Sin Chair" group went on Saturday. I was glad because I like the "Sin Chair" better.
I've got to go give Z a bath now.

see relatedMission: Greensboro
Hello everyone!
This week at our church the youth group is doing an outreach called Mission: Greensboro and on Friday and Saturday we're going to help with a thing called Rock The Block. Rock The Block is hosted by Teen Challenge and our youth group is going to help set up before it starts (I think) and we're also going to do stuff for the show for the kids'. Violin_Girl_2 and I are both participating. Yesterday, we just stayed at the church and practiced dramas and a human video (if you don't know what that means, it's where you act out a song and people make any props that you need- that's probably a weird description but that's basically what it is...) that we're going to do at Rock The Block. Today, we were divided into four teams and we went and did yard work at some people's houses. They were pretty much all people from Calvary. The group I was in did two houses- first, we went to this guy's house and we mowed his yard, picked up sticks and pulled weeds. He told us that he hadn't been to church in 16 years but that he was going to come and check out Calvary because we were such a help to him.
Then, we went to the pastor's house and pulled weeds, picked up some branches that were just lying around in the back yard and swept the walkway and driveway. The reason we did the pastor's house was because he hates to do yard work.
Tomorrow, we're going to be cleaning the church all morning and then in the afternoon, we'll be practicing our dramas and human video. In the human video that we're doing, I'm part of the throne (in heaven- it's Jesus' throne) and I'm the cross. Well, there's other people that make up the cross, like the "base" but I'm the cross part (if that makes sense) and "Jesus" is in front of me- the cross. That probably doesn't make much sense but, oh well!
In my last post, I said that I was probably going to start taking piano lessons soon and that I wasn't sure when but my mom talked with A on Sunday and I'm going to start taking piano lessons from her two weeks from this coming Thursday!! I'm excited!
This is pretty long and I've run out of things to talk about!
I'll try to post again at the end of the week (or possibly sooner).

see relatedI haven't updated in a while...that's partly because the laptop I use won't let me get on Xanga.
A lot has happened since I last posted and it would take to long to tell all. The Fourth was fun. We had ice cream with our friends and then watched fireworks. While we were waiting for the fireworks to start, Violin_Girl_2, O, J-boy, one of our friends and I waved to the people that passed and tried to get them to wave back at us. We were trying to get 233 (because that how old America turned) people to wave back before the fireworks started. 241 was the final count!!
I'm going to start taking piano lessons soon! I'm not sure exactly when but probably in two weeks from today. This lady at our church, A, is going to be my teacher. I'm excited! I've been teaching myself and I think I've gotten to that point were I can't really teach myself anymore.

From the title of this post, you can probably guess what's going on here. We've been doing lots of cleaning because JC_Cola's graduation is on Saturday and our grandparents are coming for that (and to visit). Wow! I just said everything that I wanted to say in one sentence!
I guess that's a good thing because my mom just called me- probably to clean some more! I'll try to update again either later today or tomorrow (try is the key word there!)

see relatedDrivers Ed
I am so tired! I'm taking drivers ed this week. I keep reminding myself that I only have one more day- 6 hours- to go through. It's been a long week. Being up and ready to go with everything done (including packing a lunch) at 7:45 in the morning makes me glad I'm homeschooled!! Tomorrow should [hopefully] be pretty easy because we're going to review and take tests most of the day. I'll be glad when I'm done and don't have to study every night before I go to bed. Speaking of studying, I should probably go do that now. Bye!
